about the Quality Survey

A research team of management faculty from Eastern Kentucky University, in collaboration with researchers from across the nation, is exploring quality practices of businesses and how these practices compare to the best available.  To accomplish this mission the enclosed survey of quality practices was created to assess how firms use quality principles in the operation of their business.  We ask for your help in collecting the data to determine what works to deliver the quality products and services your organization creates.  If you would take about 30 minutes to complete the attached survey on quality practices it will help immensely in collecting a sample of how quality practices are used.

The data collected will be analyzed to identify trends in quality practices by firms in different industries and different locations. The results of the survey will be compared to practices identified in similar studies conducted in the past and with current trends and theory describing best practices.   It is intended to publish the findings of the research in academic journals, which will be made available on the EKU Business Faculty Web Pages, in academic publications and other outlets available to the contributing authors.

It would be best if the survey is completed by a manager familiar with the quality practices of your organization.  There are 91 questions, the majority of which can be answered by checking the appropriate box.  The survey is completely anonymous and cannot be traced back to any respondent, and the results will be reported in categories, insuring that individual companies cannot be identified.  By responding to the survey you are consenting to allow the data to be included in the analysis.

To thank you for your time and effort, summary results of the survey will be available upon request.

Thank you for your participation.
